Position Summary
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while driving safety, quality, productivity, delivery performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This individual will oversee production teams, develop frontline leadership, and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support overall business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong experience in lean manufacturing, operational performance metrics, team development, and multi-department coordination within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery targets are consistently achieved
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, labor efficiency, waste reduction, throughput, and cycle time improvements
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all manufacturing operations
- Develop supervisors, team leads, and hourly employees through coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Improve manufacturing planning, execution, and shop floor discipline
- Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership teams to improve operational performance
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, standard work, 5S, and process optimization
- Conduct capacity planning and workforce planning to align resources with production demand
- Manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs to support profitability goals
- Maintain strong communication across all levels of the organization and provide consistent operational updates
- Lead corrective actions and problem-solving efforts related to safety, quality, and production challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred
- 7 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
