Job Summary
Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnered with a well-established company in the manufacturing space to help them hire an Assistant Controller. This role supports a fast-paced, operationally focused finance team and offers broad exposure across accounting, reporting, and systems. The position is highly visible and plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Controller in maintaining and enhancing internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Oversee vendor master data governance, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and risk mitigation
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Leverage ERP systems to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and financial controls
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecasts
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and financial planning activities
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting systems, reporting, and workflows
Qualifications and Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s preferred
- 4 to 6 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, product-based, or public accounting environment
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Demonstrated experience supporting or owning vendor master data controls or similar financial data governance processes
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle EBS or similar strongly preferred), including process improvement and system utilization
- Proven involvement in complex month-end or year-end close processes, with ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experience improving financial processes, reporting, or controls using tools such as Excel, ERP systems, or data automation platforms
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to senior leadership
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of solving complex accounting and reporting challenges
