Growing Residential Real Estate Organization Seeks A New Finance Manager to Join Their Team
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning, reporting, investment analysis, accounting operations, and project-level financial management across the company’s real estate portfolio and development projects.
- Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, financial reporting, construction project accounting, and operational performance monitoring, while supporting executive leadership with strategic financial insights and decision-making support.
- Lead the preparation and management of corporate budgets, financial plans, and cash flow projections.
- Develop financial forecasts and monitor company-wide financial performance.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and long-term financial projections for development projects.
- Allocate budgets across real estate functions including research, appraisal, development, marketing, and sales.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for stabilized properties and active construction projects, including annual operating budgets, reforecasts, sensitivity analyses, and long-term investment modeling to support strategic decision-making and capital planning.
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain internal financial controls, accounting procedures, and audit systems.
- Perform detailed monthly and quarterly review and analysis of property-level financials, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods, cash flow tracking, and operating performance metrics.
- Prepare and post complex journal entries related to revenue recognition, intercompany allocations, depreciation, lease accounting and capital expenditures.
- Oversee and review monthly bank reconciliations across numerous operating, escrow, and construction accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Navigate and maintain organizational structure in a complex, multi-entity environment including preparation of intercompany entries, eliminations, and reconciliations.
- Conduct and oversee financial modeling and investment analysis for real estate projects.
- Evaluate project feasibility, return projections, and risk exposure.
- Support financing activities including lender reporting and capital planning.
- Monitor project cash flow, capital deployment, and overall investment performance.
- Assist and coordinate 1031 Like-Kind Exchange transactions for property acquisitions and dispositions, including timeline management, coordination with qualified intermediaries, tracking exchange proceeds, and supporting tax advisors with reporting requirements.
- Oversee accounting operations, treasury management & financial reporting processes.
- Manage Audit & Tax Planning, tax compliance coordinating with external partners, lenders & financial institutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- CPA, MBA or CTP designation a plus.
- 5 years of real estate finance experience (preferably in construction, engineering/development) required
- 3 years with QuickBooks Desktop or Online software a plus!
- Bilingual (Mandarin/Chinese) highly desired
