ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager will work in the sales and marketing department. You will be responsible for networking with potential clients, managing large accounts, maintaining a loyal customer base, and overseeing hotel sales and marketing strategies. In this role, you will also be budgeting, forecasting, creating advertising campaigns, and other methods to meet or exceed stated revenue and room night goals.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions such as grasp, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Role may require the ability to drive a motor vehicle, stand, walk, sit, talk, talk on a telephone or mobile device, carry a laptop (including while traveling), use a computer for a significant amount of time each day, to hear, and to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Generate new business, close deals, and increase revenue by conducting customer sales calls, presentations, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking.
- Establish and grow the hotels market share by developing and maintaining relationships with major group and catering clients.
- Compile and analyze weekly and month end reports, review and implement action plans to address market share penetration.
- Maintain files on major active accounts within the market segment.
- Plan sales trips, under the direct approval of the Director of Sales, to major marketing areas.
- Identify new business leads by examining local market trends and competition activities and provide feedback to the Director of Sales.
- Support the Director of Sales in preparing the department budget and the hotels overall sales goals and strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in hotel management, business, marketing, or related field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- At least 2 year of sales and marketing experience at the corporate or hotel level, or 3 years as a hotel guest service agent.
- Experience with property management systems and central reservation systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
