This role will handle a variety of AR and accounting functions, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.

Qualifications & Hiring Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associates in Accounting required
- Industry Experience: Nonprofit experience preferred
- Software Skills:
- Great Plains (required)
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- iMIS experience preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
- Process and prepare daily cash receipts
- Enter data for Membership, Subscriptions, Publications, and Annual Meeting transactions
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers
- Administer all aspects of the accounts payable and cash disbursement process, including:
- Recording invoices
- Tracking, reviewing, and approving payments
- Perform general ledger reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting work
- Apply accounting principles in day-to-day responsibilities
- Maintain flexibility, reliability, and professionalism in interactions with staff, members, and the public
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Use Microsoft Office 365 (Word & Excel required); experience with iMIS and Great Plains a plus
- Location: NW DC
- Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 35-hour workweek with a 1-hour unpaid lunch
- Onsite Requirements:
- Temporary: 5 days in-office
- After conversion to permanent: Hybrid schedule
