Job Title: Senior Tax Associate

Location: Fairfax, Virginia

Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 (depending on qualifications)

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA track strongly preferred)
• 2–5 years of experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or private organization
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Experience with tax software (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters, ProSeries, or similar)

Job Description:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
• Research and interpret complex tax issues, regulations, and legislation to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
• Assist with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability and improve overall tax efficiency.
• Prepare quarterly and annual tax estimates, extensions, and required filings.
• Reconcile tax accounts and maintain supporting documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and inquiries by preparing responses and supporting schedules.
• Support tax provision calculations and financial reporting requirements under GAAP/IFRS as applicable.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulatory changes affecting client or corporate tax positions.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting of tax-related items in financial statements.
