What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant Financial Reporting position at Addison Group?
Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing, publicly traded global leader to identify a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant.
This is a highly visible role focused on SEC reporting, equity-based compensation, and technical accounting research.
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 1–2 days in office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and 8-Ks
- Prepare financial statement tie-outs, footnotes, and supporting schedules
- Support equity-based compensation accounting, dividends, and related journal entries
- Research technical accounting guidance and evaluate disclosure impacts
- Prepare GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists to ensure compliance
- Assist with quarterly EPS calculations and external audit support
- Help maintain SEC reporting controls, policies, and procedures
- Identify process improvements and support special projects as need
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- 3–4 years of public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools such as Workiva is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

- Base salary: $100K–$110K 10% annual bonus
