Addison Group is seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Specialist for an organization in McLean, VA. This position will independently manage the full payroll cycle for approximately 175 employees in a detailed, largely manual processing environment.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for payroll preparation, processing, reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, journal entries, and employee support. The ideal candidate has previously managed payroll independently, possesses advanced Excel skills, and can maintain accuracy while working under strict deadlines.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20–29 hours per week. Workdays may be scheduled flexibly based on business needs, but all hours must be worked on-site.

Responsibilities
- Independently process full-cycle, semi-monthly payroll for approximately 175 employees.
- Review timesheets, bonuses, compensation changes, deductions, and other payroll inputs for accuracy.
- Enter and validate payroll data within the payroll system.
- Prepare payroll reports, payment requests, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update multiple payroll spreadsheets using advanced Excel functions.
- Review bonus payments and other variable compensation calculations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding pay statements, deductions, taxes, and payroll-related matters.
- Assist employees with accessing or resetting electronic pay statement accounts.
- Prepare payroll and benefits journal entries.
- Reconcile payroll and benefit-related general ledger accounts.
- At least three years of full-cycle payroll experience required.
- Experience independently processing payroll for 175 or more employees strongly preferred.
