Job Description
The Medical Scribe will work one-on-one with a physician, documenting patient encounters in real time and ensuring accurate, complete medical records. This role requires recent specialty experience, strong knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to efficiently manage documentation for a high-volume patient schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany the physician during patient visits and document encounters in real time.
- Accurately enter patient histories, physical exam findings, treatment plans, and procedures into the EMR.
- Utilize eClinicalWorks (ECW) to maintain complete and accurate patient documentation.
- Prepare patient charts and ensure all necessary documentation is available prior to clinic.
- Assist with chart preparation and administrative documentation during designated administrative days.
- Maintain accuracy while documenting 50 patient encounters per day.
- Work closely with the physician to ensure timely and efficient patient flow.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- 2 years of recent medical scribing experience required.
- Recent experience in Podiatry, Orthopedics, or Wound Care required.
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) is required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Must be flexible to occasionally work until approximately 6:30 PM Monday – Thursday based on clinic volume.
- Friday is primarily dedicated to chart preparation and administrative responsibilities.
