This position is ideal for someone with healthcare registration, scheduling, insurance verification, or patient access experience. Candidates without healthcare experience may also be considered if they bring strong customer service experience from retail, food service, hospitality, call center, or other fast-paced customer-facing environments and are motivated to build a long-term career in healthcare.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Register patients and maintain accurate demographic information
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Explain financial responsibilities and payment options to patients
- Obtain required consent and privacy documentation
- Coordinate with providers, nurses, and insurance companies to support patient care
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology
- Basic computer and EMR system proficiency
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of recent experience in one of the following is required: healthcare, customer service, retail, food service, hospitality, call center, or another fast-paced customer-facing environment
- Must have recent experience working directly with customers, patients, clients, or guests
- Healthcare registration, scheduling, patient access, insurance verification, or prior authorization experience is strongly preferred
- Candidates without healthcare experience may be considered if they have strong recent customer service experience and are interested in building a career in healthcare
