Job Description:
We are seeking a patient-focused Call Center Specialist to support a fast-paced medical environment. This role involves handling inbound calls, assisting patients with scheduling needs, and ensuring accurate documentation within healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of inbound patient calls (approx. 60–70 per day)
- Book, adjust, and cancel appointments based on provider schedules
- Collect and confirm patient demographics, insurance details, and required information
- Enter and maintain accurate records within EMR/EHR systems
- Direct calls appropriately and escalate when necessary
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support coordination of care
- Respond to voicemails and follow up within established timelines
- Deliver clear, professional, and empathetic communication with patients
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to healthcare privacy standards
- 2 years of recent experience in a medical call center or healthcare customer service setting
- Strong phone skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Experience scheduling patients and verifying insurance coverage
- Familiarity with EMR / EHR systems (ModMed, Epic, or similar preferred)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment after training
- Dependable and comfortable managing a fast-paced workload
- Contract role (open-ended)
