The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling a high volume of invoices while maintaining accuracy and strong communication with vendors and internal teams.

Job Description:
Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Junior AP Specialist to join a growing accounting team in Northern Virginia. This position will support full-cycle accounts payable operations within a fast-paced professional services environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling a high volume of invoices while maintaining accuracy and strong communication with vendors and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, review, and reconcile vendor invoices and accounts payable transactions
- Verify invoice accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Assist with vendor payments including ACH transfers and check processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries professionally
- Process employee expense reimbursements and support expense reporting functions
- Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, and audit preparation
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Support sales and use tax documentation review processes
- Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams to support operational goals
- 3 years of accounts payable experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint required
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
- Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies independently
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Fully onsite position in Chantilly, VA
- Interview process includes one virtual interview followed by one onsite interview
