Our client is seeking a Director of Global Accounting -- a strategic, hands-on, systems-savvy leader ready to elevate cost visibility, drive operational excellence, and influence decision-making at the executive level of the business.
The Opportunity
You will own and shape the global cost accounting function in a sophisticated SAP environment -- spanning raw materials through finished goods across multiple manufacturing sites. You'll report to the VP of Finance and partner directly with Operations, Engineering, FP&A & Supply Chain leaders, delivering insights that drive margin, efficiency and growth.

What You'll Do
Strategic Cost Leadership:
- Architect and continuously refine enterprise-wide costing standards and methodologies (materials, labor, OH)
- Provide executive-level insights to GM, COS, inventory trends and production performance
- Act as trusted advisor to manufacturing and business leaders on cost optimization and operational efficiency
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and reserve strategies
- Ensure accurate, timely close processes & audit-ready financials
- Own & strengthen SOX internal controls
- Lead deep-dive analysis on production & purchasing variances, driving root-cause resolution
- Guide make-vs.-buy decisions, cost reduction strategies, and new product costing
- Partner cross-functionally to enhance inventory accuracy & risk management
- Champion key modules in SAP, ensuring data integrity & scalability
- Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
- Oversee cost allocations, activity rates, and planning cycles with precision
- Lead & develop a high-performing global cost accounting team
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement & collaboration
- Bachelor's degree with CPA, CMA or MBA highly preferred
- 12 years of progressive cost accounting & experience with ramping up/transforming plant operations
- Proven success in a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment (computer/electronics manufacturing a major win)
- Deep expertise in SAP
- Strong executive communication skills -- you can turn complexity into clarity -- liaison effectively with Engineers and Manufacturing Operations leaders
- Experience in a public company/SOX-regulated environment
