About Our Client

Addison Group is hiring a Building Engineer for our client to support day-to-day operations of commercial office properties. This role is ideal for a hands-on facilities professional with strong mechanical knowledge.

Job Description

Maintain and support building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of assigned commercial properties. Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and automation systems
• Perform routine repairs, inspections, lighting changes, filter replacements, and general upkeep
• Monitor major equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, controls, elevators, and security systems
• Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure safety and appearance standards
• Respond to service requests and building emergencies
• Support preventative maintenance programs
• Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors
• Oversee janitorial services to ensure quality standards
• Communicate professionally with tenants and property teams
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
• Perform other related duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of commercial building or facilities maintenance experience
• Mechanical aptitude with HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems
• Experience using tools in a commercial environment
• Familiarity with building systems, PM programs, and controls
• Basic computer skills and experience with CMMS/BAS systems
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and customer service skills
