Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process accounts payable transactions
- Perform high-volume AP data entry
- Process vendor payments, including checks and ACH
- Match invoices to purchase orders where applicable
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and supporting documentation
- Code invoices and accurately allocate expenses to accounts and cost centers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor payment timing, discount opportunities, and outstanding credits
- Maintain AP files and documentation in accordance with company requirements
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments in a timely manner
- Partner with operations and purchasing teams to support accurate processing
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed
- 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Prior experience in the construction or manufacturing industry required
- Strong understanding of full-cycle AP processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with construction accounting software
- Experience with Spectrum/Viewpoint or similar ERP systems
- Broader understanding of accounting concepts and expense coding
- Hands-on AP professional who works with urgency and accuracy
- Comfortable interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong fit for an on-site, team-oriented office setting
- Interested in long-term growth within a stable organization
- Fully on-site role, 5 days per week
- Office currently in the Fairfax area, with a move to the Chantilly area planned
- Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility
- Compensation targeted at $65,000 – $75,000, with possible flexibility for the right candidate
