Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will serve as a key leader within the accounting organization and act as a bridge between the Controller and accounting team. This role will oversee daily accounting operations, own the month-end close process, support cost accounting and inventory analysis, and help strengthen financial reporting, controls, and operational processes.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger
- Produce timely financial statements and management reporting packages
- Support cost accounting functions including inventory, COGS, BOM analysis, overhead absorption, and production variances
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams
- Perform inventory reconciliations, cycle count reviews, and physical inventory support
- Monitor production KPIs, labor efficiency, waste analysis, and SKU profitability
- Support payroll review and payroll-related reconciliations as needed
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Support ERP implementations, process automation, and workflow improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- 2 years of management or supervisory experience
- Strong month-end close and general ledger accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing or food production environments strongly preferred
- Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
- ERP system experience required
- Advanced Excel skills required
- CPA or CMA preferred
