The Adams County Library System has a Seasonal Public Services Assistant opportunity available in the Children’s Department of the Gettysburg Library:
Monday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Thursday: 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
The Seasonal Public Services Assistant is a front-line customer service position. Ability to learn and assist customers in traditional library service as well as modern technology-based library service is essential. Sound independent judgment is required.
The successful candidate must have computer/technology skills to adequately utilize library software, Microsoft Office applications and electronic information sources.
Physical requirements: Position requires ability to carry/lift bags of library materials up to 40 pounds and manipulate loaded book carts weighing up to 300 pounds over carpeted floors.
Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required. Library experience preferred. Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
Applicant must be able to obtain Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and an FBI Criminal Background Check.

This position pays at $15.00 per hour and is anticipated from June 1st through August 4th. Schedule is anticipated to be 20 hours per week at the schedule listed above. Schedule of work hours is subject to change. This position is subject to system-wide reassignment.
