Bring Residential Designs to Life
At Adair Homes, our drafting team plays a critical role in transforming ideas into buildable, code-compliant homes. As an Architectural Drafter II, you’ll take ownership of more complex residential plans, produce complete permit sets, and support drafting operations with a higher level of independence and technical expertise.
This role is ideal for an experienced residential drafter who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and contributing to a high-performing team.
What You’ll Do
- Produce complete permit set drawings for standard base homes and modest custom homes
- Independently manage more complex drafting assignments and special projects
- Apply Adair Homes standards, specifications, and upgrade options accurately
- Review concept and permit drawings prepared by other team members, as assigned
- Assist with drafting workflows, scheduling, and coverage when needed
- Support drafting team operations in the absence of the Drafting Manager
- Maintain and manage internal drafting tools, systems, and web portals
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve design and permitting issues
What We’re Looking For
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting team priorities
- Clear, professional communication with internal and external partners
- Consistent attention to detail and quality standards
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- 3–5 years of residential drafting experience, or
- Experience producing complete permit drawing sets for single-family residential homes

Proficiency with:
- Roof truss systems
- Floor joist systems
- Lateral and vertical structural principles
- Strong familiarity with residential building codes and permitting processes
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field preferred
