Build the Plans That Become Homes

At Adair Homes, we don’t just draw houses, we help families build the place they’ll call home. As an Architectural Drafter, you’ll play a hands-on role in turning ideas into buildable plans while learning the systems, standards, and processes behind residential construction.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career drafter who’s ready to grow, learn, and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced drafting team.

What You’ll Do

• Create and update residential drawings using AutoCAD
• Produce concept plans, base plan updates, plot plans, and basic permit sets
• Review home orders for accuracy and completeness
• Apply architectural and civil scaling practices
• Navigate jurisdictional websites to gather permitting and site information
• Create and manage PDF documents from multiple software platforms
• Communicate professionally with internal partners and external vendors
• Follow drafting standards, project schedules, and quality expectations

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Basic proficiency with Gmail, Google Sheets or Excel, and Google Docs or MS Word
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Willingness to learn residential construction standards and processes

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• 1–2 years of drafting experience (educational or professional)
• Exposure to residential construction or architectural drafting
• Familiarity with basic building code guidelines
• Understanding of site design considerations such as wind exposure and snow load

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate Degree in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field preferred
