Build the Plans That Become Homes
At Adair Homes, we don’t just draw houses, we help families build the place they’ll call home. As an Architectural Drafter, you’ll play a hands-on role in turning ideas into buildable plans while learning the systems, standards, and processes behind residential construction.

What You’ll Do
- Create and update residential drawings using AutoCAD
- Produce concept plans, base plan updates, plot plans, and basic permit sets
- Review home orders for accuracy and completeness
- Apply architectural and civil scaling practices
- Navigate jurisdictional websites to gather permitting and site information
- Create and manage PDF documents from multiple software platforms
- Communicate professionally with internal partners and external vendors
- Follow drafting standards, project schedules, and quality expectations
What We’re Looking For
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Basic proficiency with Gmail, Google Sheets or Excel, and Google Docs or MS Word
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn residential construction standards and processes
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- 1–2 years of drafting experience (educational or professional)
- Exposure to residential construction or architectural drafting
- Familiarity with basic building code guidelines
- Understanding of site design considerations such as wind exposure and snow load
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field preferred
