About the Role
This position focuses on civil litigation, with opportunities to work on a variety of cases. Experience in medical malpractice and long-term care defense is a required. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious, and possesses excellent communication and writing skills.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Oregon and Washington (preferred)
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Oregon Bar membership; Washington licensure preferred or willingness to obtain
- 2 years of civil litigation experience
- Experience or exposure to matters involving medical records, injury claims, or complex factual issues is a strong plus
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a busy litigation practice
- (Experience from plaintiff‑side personal injury, medical‑related litigation, judicial clerkships, DA or PD offices is welcomed and transferable.)
What You’ll Do: As an Associate Attorney, you’ll manage diverse litigation matters across Oregon and Washington. You’ll work on cases that may include medical malpractice, long term care defense, and other civil litigation, while collaborating with experienced partners and building strong client relationships. This role offers autonomy, mentorship, and the chance to develop deep expertise in complex litigation.
Responsibilities Include
- Managing litigation cases from initial filing through resolution
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery with precision and clarity
- Conducting legal research and preparing detailed case analyses
- Communicating proactively with partners, clients, and opposing counsel
- Attending hearings, depositions, and mediations and other proceedings
- Collaborating on strategy and trial preparation with senior attorneys
- Provide high level support to partners on complex cases, taking ownership of key tasks and ensuring deadlines are met
- Other duties as assigned
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
