Quality Engineer-Automotive Parts Manufacturer

An international manufacturing company specializing in Automotive Parts near the Novi MI area is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for overseeing quality activity and meeting quality expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with production and management for continuous improvement projects
• Identify and resolve issues in product design, testing, and production
• Root cause analysis and corrective action on quality issues
• Ensure that products and manufacturing processes are meeting customer, industry, and governmental standards
• Assist at times with the New Model development side
• Creation of PPAP, APQP, and other quality documentation
• Plan and conduct quality / process audits
• Oversee and participate in kaizen improvement projects
• Assist with training of quality and production associates as needed
• Report quality concerns, patterns, and losses to upper management.
• Strategize for quality management development
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree in an engineering field preferred (Example: Mechanical Engineering degree), OR equivalent work experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Quality Engineer or in a quality-adjacent role (including internships, co-ops, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
• Strong communication and leadership ability in a multicultural environment
• Good time management skills and multitasking ability
• This position includes manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
