Summary:
An international Engineering Company is seeking a skilled PLC Technician to design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and advanced control systems. This role involves selecting, installing, and wiring electrical components, as well as interfacing with PLCs and related test equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while supporting both engineering teams and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement PLC, HMI, robotic, servo, and other control systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical circuits, providing technical support to engineers and customers.
- Collaborate with supervisors, leads, and technicians on machine modifications, repairs, and electrical upgrades.
- Plan, lay out, and install advanced circuits and distribution equipment in compliance with applicable codes.
- Fabricate and install electrical systems on production equipment using drawings and schematics.
- Create and maintain documentation, including electrical drawings and project records.
- Ensure all electrical blueprints and programs are current and properly controlled.
- Maintain and upgrade computer floor terminals (hardware/software).
- Coordinate with vendors for technical assistance, parts procurement, and documentation.
- Uphold strict safety standards and OSHA compliance while promoting a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in and lead group projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints.
- Strong interpersonal skills for vendor communication and team collaboration.
- High level of initiative and self-motivation; able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and PLC software (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills; able to interpret written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions.
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field: or 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift 10-25 pounds if needed. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision and hearing.
Other duties assigned depending on various projects requirements.
