Our client, a dairy and cheese manufacturing company in Perth Amboy, NJ, is looking for a Manufacturing Mechanic Supervisor to oversee a team of production mechanics, who perform preventive maintenance and repair on Manufacturing and Packaging line equipment. Bilingual Spanish required.
Salary starts $40/hour, commensurate with experience.
Shift time 10p-7a Sunday-Thursday, with the expectation that you will work most Fridays at time and a half rate (potential 48 hour work week).
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise team of mechanics who: Troubleshoot and repair all electronic and automation equipment, sensors, cylinders, motors, conveyer belts, HVAC, plumbing, in a production environment that includes a cold/refrigerated area.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Studies maintenance schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Follows safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Maintains time and production records
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish required
- At least 3 years of hands-on, mechanical experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in food manufacturing/distribution.
- Supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Understanding of GMP's, Lock Out Tag Out, OSHA regulations.
- Electrical repair and preventative maintenance experience crucial
- Experience with reading blueprints, PLC systems, robotics, Operator Interface Terminal (Panel view), pneumatics, sensors and cylinders highly desired
- Previous experience with dairy and cheese manufacturing equipment highly desired
- Black Seal license a plus
