What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at Action Packaging?
The Customer Service Representative provides effective customer service, contributes to successful sales development, and promotes efficient business operations. The individual is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve the overall performance of the order to cash process, including but not limited to, order entry and revision, order flow approval, order status reporting and communication, billing and invoice correction, payment status resolution, customer return initiation, credit verification and issuance. The role will include other responsibilities as assigned.
The Customer Service Representative reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Daily activities may include
· Handles all inbound sales inquiries and orders via phone for new business development
· Communicating directly with customers through email or phone
· Entering data to ERP system, NetSuite or other software for recordkeeping
· Referencing information within ERP system, NetSuite for business decisions
· Sales order entry, approval, and revisions
· Sales order status communication with customers
· Freight claims
· Website order entry
· Coordinating efforts with internal team members (i.e. Sales Department, accounting, and shipping)
· Providing feedback to management regarding errors, failures, or concerns
· Promotes special offers to customers to generate incremental add-on, up-selling and cross selling sales revenue
· Responsible for their sales development of all customers (existing and prospecting) in sales territories through inbound and outbound communication
· Perform additional data entry, telemarketing, or marketing assistance as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
· 1 years in customer service role
· Familiarity with distribution industry and service standards
· Proficiency in MS Excel (NetSuite ERP a plus)
· Proven decision-making and excellent problem solving skills
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and demands
· Strong verbal, written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
