Position Overview
We are hiring a Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to support both clinical and administrative operations.
This is a hybrid role requiring the ability to manage:
- Patient-facing front desk responsibilities
- Clinical duties
- EMR workflow and task management
This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and takes full ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk / Patient Services
- Greet and check in patients
- Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars
- Answer phones, triage calls, and respond to patient messages
- Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
Clinical Medical Assistant Duties
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Administer vaccines and injections
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing (strep, COVID/flu, urine, pregnancy)
- Assist providers with procedures and treatments
- Manage lab workflows and specimen handling
Administrative & EMR Workflow
- Process incoming faxes, records, and patient communications
- Route and manage tasks within EMR (AtlasMD or similar)
- Handle medical records requests
- Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred
- 1 year experience in medical office, primary care, or outpatient setting preferred
- Experience with EMR systems (e.g., AtlasMD, Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth)
- Strong phone etiquette and patient communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with computers, email, and basic office systems
Key Expectations (Read Carefully)
- Tasks must be fully completed, documented, and confirmed before being marked done
- Referrals, labs, and patient requests must be tracked through completion (no dropped tasks)
- All patient interactions must be documented clearly in the EMR
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must communicate proactively with providers and team members
