JOB SUMMARY
Perform accounting functions for various grant funded programs of ACTION Housing Inc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and administer grant/contract portfolio exceeding $6m annually.
- Processing rental assistance and various other vendor payments.
- Monthly payment reconciliation.
- Monthly invoicing to program funders.
- General ledger journal entries.
- Monthly general ledger review and analysis.
- Monitor program accounts receivable to ensure that timely payments are received from funder.
- Annual program budget preparation for Agency budget.
- Quarterly monitoring of program budget to actual results for various funding sources and reporting to Program Managers.
- Fiscal year program close out for assigned programs and other annual audit preparation.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting preferred, and/or at least 5 years accounting work experience.
- Proficiency with Accounting software, Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe software. Experience with Blackbaud NXT is a plus.
- Experience with nonprofit grant accounting and government funded programs is highly desired.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Physical strength to manipulate light to medium weight materials weighing 10 to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
- Work is conducted in a typical office environment with temperature control and natural and artificial light.
