Job Title: Utility Locator - Crew Chief
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Utility Locator - Crew Chief to lead and assist in performing utility locating operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of underground utility designating and marking, adhering to safety protocols, and coordinating with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in performing utility locating operations.
- Adhere to company and client safety protocols.
- Prepare sketches of underground utility locations.
- Download and manage field data.
- Coordinate with the survey party chief for locating designation marks.
- Coordinate scheduling and mapping with SUE office staff.
- Ensure the quality and efficiency of utility locating performance.
Essential Skills
- 1 to 3 years of utility locating experience.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of subsurface utilities.
- Valid US Driver's License.
- Authorization to work in the US.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to walk 3-5 miles a day while carrying heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Work Environment
The role involves outdoor work, often requiring walking long distances and carrying equipment. The position also requires travel to various locations. A professional approach to safety and efficiency is expected, with adherence to company and client safety protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cromwell, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
