Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated QA/QC Manager to ensure a safe working environment and maintain quality standards across projects. The ideal candidate will manage inspector resources, oversee quality compliance, and collaborate with various stakeholders to meet project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
- Manage inspector resources, including third-party and direct-hire quality inspectors.
- Provide project-wide oversight on quality and compliance matters for QA/QC functions.
- Monitor construction activities and review materials and equipment for adherence to specifications.
- Manage ASME/AWS/IPC/UPC code-related welding projects.
- Collaborate with preconstruction, field supervision, and other teams to support quality management needs.
- Establish metrics to identify trends for inspections, non-conformances, and corrective/preventive actions per ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
- Ensure that quality is maintained on site in relation to all aspects of the project.
- Implement change orders as they relate to quality.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, technicians, managers, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Ability to speak clearly and exercise good judgment.
- Capability to work under pressure and in remote locations.
- Experience in ASME, AWS, IPC, UPC welding.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical literature and plans.
- Competence in public speaking and presentations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills and ability to generate creative solutions.
- Proficient in MS-based software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficient with QA/QC systems like Cx Alloy, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Project Sight.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Certification in welding code stamp.
- Combination of high school diploma with QC experience and certifications will be considered.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
- Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to distinguish between shades of color.
- Self-driven with a desire to learn and succeed.
The work environment involves a typical construction site with some field travel. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, working from heights, and working outside during all types of weather. It requires proficiency with MS-based software and QA/QC systems, with a focus on quality control, construction management, and weld inspection.
