Job Title: Traffic Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Traffic Engineer where you will manage transportation and parking planning projects. You will play a crucial role in designing and planning various traffic systems, ensuring smooth and efficient transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and design Intersection Design Studies and Preliminary Geometric plans.
• Prepare traffic signal design plans for new and modified intersections.
• Develop construction sequencing, pavement marking plans, signing plans, and traffic control plans.
• Attend public meetings with developers, public agencies, and zoning attorneys.
• Conduct traffic impact analysis and use traffic signal software effectively.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in Traffic Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification with the ability to obtain PE within the next two years.
• Proficiency in HCS and SYNCHRO.
• Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, or OpenRoads.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PTOE certification is a plus.
• Experience working directly with clients.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with in-office work on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Tuesday and Friday. You will have your own desk and likely share an office with a partner. The work involves 80% office-based tasks and 20% on-site activities such as tracking traffic reports and attending public meetings. The role includes working on a variety of project types, such as fast food restaurants, medical campuses, and school districts, with each project typically lasting 3-4 weeks. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rosemont, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.90 - $43.27/hr.
