Job Description

As a Test Engineer, you will design and build automated test fixtures for new product development. You will select instrumentation, define I/O, and integrate controls, safety interlocks, and data acquisition. The role involves developing test software primarily in LabVIEW or, alternatively, robust solutions using Python and C with appropriate hardware drivers and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test fixtures.
• Develop test software in LabVIEW or Python and C.
• Author test plans, procedures, and automated scripts.
• Contribute to peer reviews, traceability, and regression execution.
• Execute and document validation activities in regulated environments.
• Produce user-facing technical documentation and maintain configuration management.
• Collaborate with Systems, Quality/Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with strong hardware experience.
• 3–6 years of experience in test engineering or test automation in new product development.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW or strong skills in Python and C.
• Strong communication skills and a team-player mentality.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable with Hi-Pot/dielectric testing concepts and functional safety verification practices.
• Experience with medical devices and exposure to TMV/Gage R&R practices.
• Fixture design/build experience, including electrical schematics, wiring, safety interlocks, and enclosure layout.
• Schematic capture/PCB design, power electronics, and safety-critical testing experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Paul,MN.
