Job Description

This Technician role focuses on the fabrication, installation, routing, and troubleshooting of aircraft wiring and related electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems in a System Integration Laboratory environment. The Technician works from engineering drawings, electrical and electronic schematics, and written or verbal instructions to construct wiring harnesses, assemble and mount equipment in large electronics racks, and support test installations and laboratory test facilities.

Responsibilities

• Construct aircraft wiring harnesses from electrical and electronic schematics with limited guidance.
• Route wiring harnesses within large electronics racks and terminate them to rear disconnect panels.
• Mount electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical components and assemblies in equipment racks using appropriate mechanical skills.
• Fabricate, install, diagnose, and repair equipment and test installations in support of System Integration Laboratory test facilities.
• Construct and assemble test boxes and associated laboratory test equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to complete fabrication and installation tasks accurately.
• Perform functional checks on assembled systems and components to verify proper operation.
• Make adjustments, modifications, and replacements to wiring, components, and assemblies as directed by engineering or supervisory staff.
• Troubleshoot electronic and electrical issues in aircraft and laboratory systems using strong diagnostic skills.
• Perform general mechanical and fabrication tasks to support electronic and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ensure that all work follows established fabrication processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Document work performed as required and communicate issues or needed changes to the appropriate team members.

Essential Skills

• Strong electronic and electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven experience with electronic and electrical fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical and electronic schematics, and related technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience fabricating and terminating electrical wire harnesses, including military wiring harnesses and connectors.
• Experience routing wiring harnesses in large electronics racks and terminating to rear disconnect panels.
• Mechanical skills sufficient to mount components and assemblies in racks and perform general mechanical tasks.
• General fabrication skills for electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with limited guidance while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting System Integration Laboratory test facilities.
• Ability to fabricate test boxes and associated laboratory test equipment.
• Familiarity with aerospace assembly and electrical wire harness fabrication processes.
• Comfort working from both written and verbal instructions in a technical environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a System Integration Laboratory and manufacturing-style environment that supports the assembly, integration, and testing of aircraft-related electronic and electromechanical systems. Work involves frequent interaction with engineering drawings, schematics, and test equipment, as well as hands-on fabrication, wiring, and mechanical assembly in and around large electronics racks. The environment is technical and collaborative, with a focus on precision, safety, and adherence to established fabrication and test processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Stratford, CT.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Stratford,CT.
