Job Description
The Technical Instructor is a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, learner-centered training experiences for datacenter technicians and other operational roles. This position supports the mission to deliver innovative, scalable, and effective learning solutions that empower employees and maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Integrated Learning Program Managers, other Instructional Designers, and subject matter experts to develop learning solutions that meet business needs.
- Assess the needs of target audiences and design, develop, write, and maintain courseware with a focus on e-learning authoring tools and microlearning to create interactive and engaging content.
- Create videos, quizzes, simulations, and more to enhance learning experiences.
- Design and develop supporting materials, including slides, handouts, lab instructions, and lab solutions for courses that emphasize necessary tasks.
- Partner with subject matter experts and external technical trainers to incorporate their expertise into training programs.
- Research technology-related information to ensure training is current and relevant.
- Maintain awareness of external seminars, training, and literature on available programs.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of work-related experience in instructional design, including needs assessment, learner context, and task analyses.
- Experience in developing learning-centered, performance-based programs for diverse audiences.
- Extensive experience in creating and delivering e-learning programs.
- Strong technical communication skills, including writing and editing.
- Proficiency in MS Office and multimedia tools like Articulate Storyline and Rise, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with AI platforms and 3D modeling is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, initiative, and independence in researching course needs.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Master's degree or formal education in Instructional Design is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Articulate and Adobe PremierPro with some animation experience.
- Experience creating AI learning solutions and 3D models.
- Experience working with media such as video and video editing.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Work Environment
The role involves supporting the learning curriculum for various support teams, including data centers. The typical workday consists of creating and updating coursework and trainings, attending meetings with subject matter experts to influence trainings, and participating in team meetings. This role offers the opportunity to work with a highly collaborative team on interesting and new technologies.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
