Job Description
Join our team as a Systems Engineer, where you will play a critical role in designing and validating avionics systems for the US Army Special Operations Aviation programs. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and perform on-site testing of cockpit avionics.
Responsibilities
- Perform design requirements validation and verification tasks for MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics.
- Execute requirements-based testing, robustness, and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment.
- Support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams.
- Utilize various engineering tools including TNT, DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft SVN, and others.
- Investigate Collins Aerospace lab hardware and environment, including integration investigations of interfaces for Collins Aerospace equipment and government-furnished equipment.
- Proficiency in systems engineering.
- Experience with supporting data busses and protocols such as Ethernet or MIL-STD.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Electrical engineering expertise.
- Relevant Systems Engineering Job Experience.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Understanding of data busses and protocols like Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429.
- Military avionics experience.
- Familiarity with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA, and Microsoft Office Suite.
This is an office-based role located onsite at the Collins Aerospace facility in Cedar Rapids. The position requires schedule flexibility during formal test phases.

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $53.00/hr.
