Support Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Drone Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer to design, manage, and employ a variety of standard and custom-configured instrumentation, including proprietary data recording and aircraft systems command modules. The ideal candidate will assist in writing flight test plans to meet engineering team requirements and ensure optimized instrumentation configurations function effectively with data recovery and delivery consistent with high-paced flight test operations.

• Design, develop, and operate flight test instrumentation from start to finish.
• Integrate sensors with vehicle systems, considering factors such as weight/balance, EMI, and thermal testing.
• Manage vendor relationships and project budgets.
• Provide troubleshooting support and develop contingency plans.
• Create documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Travel as required, with time estimated at 10%.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3-5 years of flight test instrumentation experience.
• Hands-on experience with sensor integration, including accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and cameras.
• Expertise in data acquisition systems and analysis.
• Flight test sensor integration and data reduction.
• GNSS/DGNSS systems setup.
• Electrical power systems and fault injection.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Understanding of environmental testing standards, such as DO-160G.

• Experience with drone/UAV or aerospace testing.
• Knowledge of certification and regulatory testing.
• Background in wind tunnel testing.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $41.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Seattle,WA.
