Job Description
Join a dynamic and rapidly growing organization as a Supplier Quality Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting process audits at supplier facilities to ensure quality systems, manufacturing practices, and compliance with industry standards are upheld. You will play a critical role in evaluating and approving new suppliers, maintaining audit schedules, and ensuring supplier readiness for new product introductions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct process audits at supplier facilities to assess quality systems, manufacturing practices, and compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Evaluate and approve new suppliers through initial qualification audits and ongoing surveillance.
- Develop, maintain, and execute supplier audit schedules based on risk assessments and performance history.
- Collaborate with suppliers to investigate non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor and report on supplier quality performance metrics, including PPAP/FAI results, delivery quality, and responsiveness.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and program management to support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure supplier readiness.
- Ensure supplier processes are capable and controlled for critical aerospace components and special processes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining supplier quality agreements and related documentation.
- Stay current on aerospace quality regulations, customer-specific requirements, and industry trends.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, ideally 5 years.
- Experience with supplier audits and first article inspections (FAI).
- Background in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in PPAP and APQP processes.
- Strong understanding of electronics and metallics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PPAP and APQP experience.
- Experience with electronics on the west coast and metallics on the east coast, such as forgings and castings.
- 3rd party certifications such as SQE, quality auditor, supplier quality professional, or certified auditor.
Work Environment
This remote opportunity requires candidates to be located near major hubs, such as Los Angeles, Charlotte, NC, or Orlando, FL. The organization operates on a 4/10 schedule, requiring availability from 8-5 CST, Monday through Thursday. The role involves significant travel initially, offering exposure to all suppliers and interaction with senior-level leadership. There are ample opportunities for growth within the organization.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
