Job Title: Field Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field activities for projects in Broward and Palm Beach County. This role involves directing crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards. The Field Superintendent will coordinate with various stakeholders to resolve issues promptly, minimize delays, and maintain productivity. This position requires strong field supervision, effective documentation, and communication skills to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily on-site activities, ensuring all crews, subcontractors, and vendors follow the approved scope of work and construction schedule.
• Review and interpret shop drawings, installation plans, and specifications to ensure proper execution in the field.
• Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor progress, verify quality, and identify deficiencies requiring correction.
• Assign work to field teams, track labor and material usage, and ensure tasks are completed to standard.
• Enforce site safety rules and company policies; ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
• Hold daily/weekly toolbox talks to address safety, quality, and productivity.
• Coordinate deliveries, staging, and storage of materials to keep workflow efficient.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for the GC, inspectors, and client representatives.
• Document progress through daily reports, photos, and status updates to the Director of Installation and Project Managers.
• Identify risks and proactively escalate to the Director of Installation with proposed mitigation steps.
• Address installation issues immediately and ensure corrective measures are completed.
• Conduct preliminary and final punch walks; ensure completion of all punch list items.
• Prepare and distribute progress updates to stakeholders when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite at all times.

Essential Skills

• 2–5 years of field supervision experience in construction, preferably in cabinet, millwork, or interior finish installation.
• Fluency in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with diverse crews, subcontractors, and clients.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and site safety procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project teams, GCs, inspectors, and clients.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with project management/scheduling software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam Revu, Monday.com, or equivalent).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the construction field management, millwork, carpentry, kitchen, bathroom, FF&E, interior build-out, and renovation.

Work Environment

The Field Superintendent will manage 1-5 projects at a time, depending on the size of the projects. They have the autonomy to manage their own time between projects with minimal micromanagement. Projects are located in Broward and Palm Beach County. This role offers the opportunity to work in the high-end construction market, with installation jobs typically valued between $3-5 million. There is potential for career development into a Project Manager role and eventually into a Director of Installation position.
