Substation Engineer - Lakewood, Colorado

We are actively hiring an Electrical Substation Engineer to support Power Delivery Projects.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage relationships with local clients.
• Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
• Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
• Ensure quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
• Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
• Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.

Essential Skills

• Substation design and Physical design
• One-line diagrams and Three-line diagrams
• Experience in 345kV through 500kV substation design
• Protection & control
• Professional Engineering license (PE)
• Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design
• Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards
• Experience managing 5 or more people on a project team
• Experience running projects independently
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option

Work Environment

Work schedule includes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in-office, with an initial requirement of five days a week for about a month.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $56.25/hr.
