Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to troubleshoot both internal and customer quality concerns. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Engineering team to define process controls and testing requirements, interface with customers and suppliers, and support supplier visits and defect reporting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor product performance and manage suspect parts daily.
- Create and update quality documents, including alerts, work instructions, and control plans.
- Conduct audits, risk analysis, and root cause investigations.
- Lead or support corrective actions, containment, and sorting activities.
- Maintain quality records and support APQP/PPAP activities.
- Train and coach inspection and quality personnel, updating training materials as needed.
- Report KPI data and support 4S and kaizen improvement activities.
- Act as an internal auditor and backup for the manager, and lead customer meetings independently.
- 5 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience.
- Automotive industry experience.
- Experience with quality management tools, including PPAP documentation, APQP processes, and CAPA.
- Process improvement experience using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, 5S, A3, and 5D.
- Proficiency in using Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
- ERP system experience, preferably with Plex or SAP.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in engineering or manufacturing.
- Experience with the automotive PPAP process and customer interface is preferred.
- Familiarity with TS16949, diesel engines, ISO9001, GD&T is advantageous.
This role is situated in a manufacturing environment with less than 10% occasional travel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
