What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solidworks Mechanical Designer position at Actalent?
As a Mechanical Designer, you will be a crucial contributor to design concepts, general layouts, and producing drawings using 2D & 3D CAD programs such as SolidWorks. You will operate with minimal supervision and play an integral role in design development.
Responsibilities- Contribute to design concepts and complete general layouts.
- Produce drawings using SolidWorks.
- Create required documentation using Microsoft Office software, including BOMs, ECRs, ECNs, and Process Specifications.
- Operate within established documentation standards.
- Correspond with customers, vendors, and internal customers regarding design, drawing, or documentation issues.
- Manage additional responsibilities in product development, requiring a good grasp of project management, inner company processes like purchasing, planning, and sales, and cost management to enhance the design process.
- 5 years of experience using 3D design software including SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Mechanical design experience, especially in oilfield equipment manufacturing.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, weldments, and mechanical design.
- Familiarity with oil and gas, frac pumps, and oilfield fabrication.
- Experience with BOM and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work with engineering change notices (ECN) and engineering change requests (ECR) within manufacturing.
This position is located on-site in Rhome, Texas, within a dynamic and established organization. The company offers a range of design and fabrication services across various industries, emphasizing quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rhome, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
