Software Engineer (Infrastructure Developer)

This role demands comprehensive expertise in the entire software development life cycle. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a high level of initiative, and the ability to transform notional software solutions into structured implementations in undefined environments. The candidate will prioritize tasks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, they will effectively communicate project statuses and challenges with multiple, geographically dispersed development teams, following Agile Development processes throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent technical investigations and provide technical advice.
• Recommend technical solutions and assist in integrating program functionality into new baselines.
• Exhibit attention to detail and quickly learn new procedures with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and patching Kubernetes.
• Advanced proficiency in writing Ansible plays and playbooks.
• Proficiency in Linux System Administration and debugging.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for team collaboration.
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain a final Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM program or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience with virtual machine environments and Docker container use.
• Experience with Open Container Initiative (OCI) containerized application development.
• Experience with build ecosystems such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) Systems.
• Understanding of GitOps.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools and techniques (e.g., Kubernetes, Helm).
• Familiarity with Application Security and Development Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
• Familiarity with static code analysis tools such as SonarQube and Fortify.
• Knowledge of the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
• Ability to apply mathematical and statistical operations towards software algorithms.
• Background in military intelligence and imagery, or strategic planning.
• Top Secret Security Clearance.

The position is on-site with a focus on supporting the Department of Defense's Joint Command and Control (C2) system. This environment involves no local client site presence and requires interaction with an integrated system supporting joint warfighter needs. The work involves sustainment and modernization, focusing on enhancing system capabilities, increasing efficiency, and incorporating agile technologies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
