Job Title: Site Safety Manager
Job Description
As a Site Safety Manager, you will oversee safety operations before, during, and after each workday. You will ensure that all safety measures are in place and adhered to, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand the day's activities based on 2-3 week lookaheads and planning.
- Walk the site at the start of the day to identify any changes or hazards that have developed overnight, especially important for sites with 24-hour operations.
- Notify corresponding subcontractors if any site conditions or hazards are identified.
- Verify the safety of fall protection devices installed overnight.
- Ensure proper lighting is available for crews as they arrive and access/egress locations are clear and safe.
- Ensure all safety signage is intact, visible, and appropriate for current site conditions.
- Account for fire extinguishers regularly.
- Receive and review Permit to Work (PTP) documents for completion, making comments if needed.
- Ensure the distribution of PTP copies to the relevant parties.
- Observe leaders conducting safety briefings and provide orientation.
- Monitor the inspection of equipment and reject incomplete or improperly filled paperwork.
- Lead weekly and regular safety meetings to coordinate safety needs and address issues.
- Review daily safety forms such as Hot Work, Confined Space, and Scaffolding Inspections.
- Continuously walk the site with PTPs to confirm adherence to safety plans, stopping any unsafe work.
- Monitor general site conditions and ensure the availability and working condition of safety equipment such as extinguishers, AED, and eye wash stations.
- Complete and upload daily and weekly safety inspections into Procore.
- Perform end-of-day site walks to ensure safety for overnight crews and secure equipment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety management experience, including at least 3 years as a Site Safety Manager.
- Strong electrical background with the ability to identify electrical-related hazards.
- Ability to lead and conduct safety meetings.
- Strong organizational skills and knowledge of EHS, OSHA, safety training, compliance, and construction safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BCSP certification is preferred.
- Experience in data centers and electrical safety.
Work Environment
The schedule is flexible, but the current team operates on a rotation of 10 days on followed by 4 days off, including rotating Saturdays. The work environment requires vigilance in maintaining a safe and compliant site, with a focus on electrical safety and regular safety meetings.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Amarillo, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
