Job Title: Chief Structural Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Chief Structural Engineer with significant experience in the design and construction of concrete and steel tankage, masonry buildings, concrete structures, and steel frame structures such as walkways, stairs, and pipe supports. Expertise in water and wastewater treatment facilities is essential. The role involves developing the basis of design, coordinating structural elements to support process design, directing the design team for drawing and specification preparation, and supporting construction phase services.
Responsibilities
- Develop the basis of design for structural projects.
- Coordinate structural elements in support of process design.
- Direct the design team for preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Provide support during the construction phase services.
- Engage in structural engineering projects with a long-term goal of expanding the range of supported projects.
Essential Skills
- Licensed Structural Engineer with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- 10-25 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in structural design including concrete, steel, and wood framing.
- Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design.
- Expertise in soils and foundation design.
- Experience in temporary structures and formwork.
- Experience in masonry and wood framing.
- Experience in process design, specifications, and construction drawings.
Work Environment
The ideal candidate can work in any office location, including Lake Geneva, WI, St. Charles, IL, Fox Lake, IL, and Oakbrook, IL.
The position is based in an established civil/environmental engineering and surveying firm with multiple office locations in Illinois and Wisconsin. The firm was originally founded based on its expertise in water/wastewater engineering. The firm has expanded its services to include traditional Civil/Site, as well as Watershed Resources and Utility Infrastructure Rehabilitation. Currently, the firm serves over 80 municipalities throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Geneva, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.09 - $76.92/hr.
