This is a hands‑on, in‑office role designed for engineers who value collaboration, technical rigor, and ownership of their work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the technical design and delivery of pipeline conveyance projects
- Serve as Engineer of Record, including stamping plans
- Direct design approach, resolve technical challenges, and review detailed calculations and drawings
- Work on conveyance and storage systems for:
- Wastewater
- Recycled water
- Potable water
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers
- Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and leadership in a highly interactive, in‑office environment
- Support proposals and pursuits as a technical contributor (not sales‑driven)
- ❌ A project‑management‑only position
- ❌ A treatment or process engineering role
- ❌ A remote or hybrid opportunity
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- California PE strongly preferred
- Out‑of‑state PE considered only if able to obtain CA licensure quickly
- Strong background in pipeline conveyance design
- Water, wastewater, recycled water
- Demonstrated hands‑on technical leadership
- Experience acting as Engineer of Record
- Comfortable working fully in‑office
- 10 years of relevant experience (flexible for strong technical depth)
- Pumping systems experience is helpful but secondary
- Treatment experience is not required and deprioritized
- Familiarity with hydraulic calculations, pipeline alignment, constructability, and design review
- Southern California–based
- Travel is primarily local to job sites
- Rare Northern California exposure possible
- No routine overnight or out‑of‑state travel expected
- $130,000 – $200,000 base salary
- Upper range aligned with highly technical candidates (20–25 years experience)
