What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Highway Design Engineer position at Actalent?
Job Description:
- Employ fundamental principles including all aspects of Highway Design, Utility Coordination (including relocation and agreements), Cost Estimating, and Transportation Engineering while using applicable MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD design software.
- Production of plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates for roadway projects for NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and County or Municipal agencies.
- Geometric Design, Design Exception, Roadside Design including current Guide Rail Design, Pavement Design, MPT, Signing and Striping, ROW, Access Management, Grading, Permitting, Coordination with Utility Companies and Utility Relocations, Utility Risk Analysis, Production of Utility Schemes of Accommodation.
- Roadway Drainage Design, and 3D Roadway Modeling
Requirements:
- Knowledge of NJDOT Capital Project Procedures, NJDOT/NJTA/ AASHTO Roadway Design Manual/ Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, MUTCD, NEPA Process, Monitoring Budgets and Primavera Scheduling
- Strong design capabilities with MicroStation Inroads experience including working with alignments, surfaces, templates, earthwork, and plans and quantity calculations
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
