Job Title: SR. Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Engineer role involves designing, modeling, testing, and producing prototypes as necessary. You will work alongside engineers, manufacturing teams, product managers, and commercial teams to conduct research and devise design proposals for various projects. The position requires direct contact and interaction with key customer decision makers and involves supervising 1 to 3 direct reports. You will set expectations, clarify responsibilities, delegate tasks, and schedule project assignments to meet targets and goals. Additionally, you will evaluate team members through daily contact, providing real-time feedback and guidance on areas for performance improvement, as well as creating individual development and training plans to meet team goals. You will also develop and use capacity planning tools to determine the engineering capacity needed by the value stream to meet demand.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, test, and produce prototypes as appropriate.
• Conduct research and devise design proposals for projects.
• Interact directly with key customer decision makers.
• Supervise the work of 1 to 3 direct reports, setting expectations and clarifying responsibilities.
• Delegate tasks and project assignments to the team and schedule the work to meet targets and goals.
• Evaluate team members through daily contact to understand their skill levels.
• Provide real-time feedback and guidance on areas where performance could improve.
• Create individual development and training plans to meet team goals.
• Develop and use capacity planning tools to determine engineering capacity needed by the value stream to meet demand.
• Modify and/or extend existing components, subassemblies, and system designs.
• Ensure high-quality standards for products regarding materials, design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with Production departments to provide product engineering support.
• Develop and maintain standard practices and procedures, and best practices within the department.

Essential Skills

• Experience in new product development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CAD design.
• Experience with R&D projects.
• Understanding of food manufacturing processes.
• Customer support experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in modifying and extending existing components and system designs.
• Ability to ensure high-quality standards for products.
• Capability to develop and maintain standard practices and procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and largely dedicated to customer interfacing, with a focus on new equipment designs. It is a privately held, 3rd generation family-owned company with a super tenure staff and low turnover.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
