Job Title: Research Technician

Job Description

The Research Technician performs advanced research techniques and procedures in a Core-specific science. This role involves providing day-to-day supervision of specialized Core facilities, maintaining Core financial records and databases for tracking invoicing and customer usage, and offering timely technical support to user groups. Additionally, the technician maintains and services instrumentation, supports the implementation of new techniques and improvements in technology to ensure the Core remains competitive and state-of-the-art, and assists the Center Director and staff in establishing, updating, and implementing safety and operating protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced research techniques and procedures in a Core-specific science.
• Supervise specialized Core facilities on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintain Core financial records and databases for tracking invoicing and customer usage.
• Provide timely technical support to user groups.
• Maintain and service instrumentation.
• Support the implementation of new techniques and improvements in technology to keep the Core competitive and state-of-the-art.
• Assist the Center Director and staff in establishing, updating, and implementing safety and operating protocols.

Essential Skills

• Experience in laboratory troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of magnetic resonance.
• Certification in CRT, ARRT, ARMRIT.
• Understanding of medical laboratory procedures and research projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• High level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 9 months of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• High level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.

Work Environment

The role involves working with pediatrics aged 3-5 years old. This is a Per Diem position with open availability for scheduling, requiring a minimum of 2 days a week and a maximum of 4 days, including potential weekend shifts. The laboratory operates from 8am to 8pm, and the technician will be filling in for the main per diem person on leave until the end of October, with a potential extension based on workload. The lab is looking to expand its operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
