Job Title: Sr. Wiring Harness Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Wiring Harness Quality Technician to support the electrical testing of prototype Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) wire harnesses. In this role, you ensure that prototype vehicles meet the highest standards of electrical safety, reliability, and performance by building, inspecting, and troubleshooting complex wiring harnesses and related assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Build complex Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) wire harnesses from scratch using industry-standard techniques.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical wire harnesses on prototype vehicles and test setups.
  • Perform detailed electrical testing and quality inspection of prototype wire harnesses to verify safety, functionality, and performance.
  • Interpret and work from complex wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical assembly drawings to guide harness build and test activities.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical issues within harnesses and related assemblies using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Apply advanced crimping, terminating, splicing, and shielding techniques to ensure robust and reliable electrical connections.
  • Solder electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), including fine-pitch work under a microscope, to support harness interfaces and test hardware.
  • Document build processes, test results, and inspection findings clearly and accurately to support quality assurance and engineering feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineering and prototype teams in a fast-paced environment to refine harness designs and improve build and test processes.
  • Multi-task across multiple prototype projects and quickly pivot between priorities while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience building and testing complex electrical wire harnesses from scratch.
  • Advanced ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Mastery of industry-standard crimping, terminating, splicing, and shielding techniques for LV and HV harnesses.
  • Proven experience installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical wire harnesses on prototype or production systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving electrical issues in harnesses and related assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality soldering of components onto PCBAs under a microscope.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety principles relevant to Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced prototype environment, managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience performing detailed quality inspections on electrical harnesses and assemblies.
  • Comfort working from and contributing to detailed build documentation and test reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional prototype and engineering teams.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to pivot quickly as prototype requirements evolve.

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced prototype environment focused on developing and testing advanced Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) electrical systems. You work hands-on with wire harnesses, electrical test equipment, and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), frequently referencing complex schematics and mechanical drawings. The work involves detailed bench-level tasks, including precision crimping, terminating, splicing, shielding, and microscope-based soldering. You collaborate closely with engineering and prototype teams, balancing multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
