Job Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. This position works closely with production and engineering teams to identify defects, document quality issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of products and components.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials and products.
- Assist with containment and sorting activities when quality issues arise.
- Support root cause investigations by gathering data and inspection results.
- Verify product labeling, packaging, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration records are current.
- Work with production personnel to address quality concerns and improve product quality.
- Follow company quality procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Assist during customer or ISO audits as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- BS in Engineering or Quality Field preferred but not required.
- 0-3 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience using inspection and measurement tools preferred.
- Experience with ISO environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Experience with visual inspection systems or CMM equipment.
The role involves working in a medical manufacturing environment, utilizing various inspection tools and technologies. The work environment is collaborative, requiring communication with production and engineering teams. The position offers billable holidays while on contract.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
