Quality Engineering Technician

📍 Location: Saugerties, NY (On-site)

🕒 Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Saugerties, NY. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring product quality by performing mechanical inspections, documentation, and quality control processes for precision-machined components and assemblies.

What You’ll Do

Inspection & Quality Control

• Perform mechanical inspections using calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections
• Inspect incoming materials and components to ensure they meet specifications
• Review and reconcile final inspection documentation for outgoing shipments

Documentation & Compliance

• Accurately document non-conformances in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Identify, label, and process conforming and non-conforming materials
• Maintain inspection records and support data entry in systems (Excel-based tracking)

Blueprint Reading & Technical Review

• Interpret and inspect parts against blueprints and shop drawings
• Verify flat pattern programs and part geometry against specifications

Cross-Functional Support

• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers/vendors to ensure quality standards are met
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused projects
• Support adherence to company quality policies, procedures, and safety standards (PPE required)

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment preferred
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Mechanical parts inspection
• Ability to:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Perform basic math (fractions, measurements, conversions)
• Working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Excel and Word (data entry, documentation)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments
• Background in machine builds or assemblies
• Exposure to quality assurance systems or laboratory environments
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Customer-facing or vendor communication experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saugerties, NY.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
