Job Description
The Aerospace Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that manufactured aerospace products adhere to stringent quality standards and regulatory compliance. This position involves developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections and audits, analyzing product data, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to address issues and implement corrective actions. The engineer must ensure that products are safe, reliable, and meet all technical specifications within the aerospace manufacturing domain.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications and industry standards like AS9100.
- Conduct inspections of products and processes on the production floor and at supplier locations, and perform audits to ensure compliance.
- Analyze product and process data to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including reports and quality plans.
- Ensure adherence to aerospace-specific regulations and customer requirements.
- Work with suppliers to ensure their quality systems and processes are compliant.
- 5-10 years as an Aerospace Quality Engineer in Military DoD and Commercial (FAA) Part 21 and/or Part 145 environments.
- 5 years of experience working in AS9100 Aerospace Quality.
- Proficiency in 5Y, CAPA, Internal and External Audits (ISO, AS9100 customer audits).
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Technical field is required.
- Experience in a dynamic environment, preferably in a small/medium-size business with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to work on multiple programs, projects, and products with shifting priorities.
- Battery pack manufacturing experience is preferred, but experience with machine metal components is also acceptable.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility, make process improvements, and drive for results.
The work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to standard temperature-controlled office conditions and variable shop floor conditions. Noise levels may be moderate to high at times. This is a full-time onsite position with flexible hours, typically operating from 8-5. The role requires the ability to lift documents and work materials up to 40 pounds and communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
I have the benefits guide, they have 9 company Holidays and up to 2 weeks of PTO after their first year.
